ACEP Committees and Volunteering

ACEP welcomes the participation of its members on committees, task forces and as regional coordinators.
The volunteer structure of our organization is the foundation for achieving our goals, and is key to preparing for a leadership position in the future. Please consider taking an active role in an area that interests you and for which you have gifts, talents and time to offer. 

ACEP Committee Descriptions

Annual Conference Coordinating Committee
•    Recruits keynote speakers for Annual International Energy Psychology Conference
•    Identifies entertainment & special events to be held in conjunction with annual conference
•    Coordinates breakout tracks and workshops with Education Committee
•    Identifies marketing and advertising opportunities to promote the annual conference
•    Coordinates registration pricing structure with Finance Committee
•    Oversees the production of the registration marketing brochure
•    Confers with executive director on site selection for future conferences
•    Conducts general evaluation of conferences

Communications Committee
•    Oversees publication of Energy Field and e-news
•    Plans editorial content for publications
•    Sets publication schedule for electronic and printed communications
•    Contributes to update and continuity of website
•    Identifies branding opportunities for ACEP website banner, ACEP logo, and the field of energy   psychology

Certification Committee (by appointment)
•    Identifies body of knowledge for DCEP and CEHP certification
•    Sets curriculum and test questions for online training modules
•    Plans content for certification courses
•    Provides trainers for certification courses
•    Evaluates and appoints certification consultants
•    Sets criteria for certification and re-certification

Education Committee
•    Issues call for proposals for pre-conference seminars and conference breakout workshops held in conjunction with Annual International Energy Psychology Conference
•    Selects, places and evaluates faculty for seminars and workshops
•    Oversees completeness of faculty requirements for participation
•    Assigns continuing education credit for sessions
•    Oversees production of annual conference program book
•    Oversees compliance with CE sponsorship approval organizations for CE providers
•    Evaluates effectiveness and relevance of educational sessions
•    Oversees other educational offerings sponsored by ACEP and its regions

Ethics & Professional Affairs Committee
•    Oversees the implementation and promulgation of the Code of Ethics
•    Answers queries regarding ethical issues in the practice of energy psychology methods
•    Adjudicates allegations of alleged ethical misconduct on the part of ACEP members
•    Interfaces with licensing bodies regarding scope of practice issues
•    Provides case studies in resolving ethical dilemmas for ACEP publications

Humanitarian Aid Committee
•    Identifies projects that respond to international events that result in trauma and suffering
•    Provides trainers to teach energy psychology methods to first responders and mental health professionals in international emergencies
•    Raises funds to underwrite ACEP’s humanitarian aid projects

Membership Development Committee
•    Leads campaign to recruit and retain ACEP members through member-get-a-member (each-one-reach-one) plans
•    Oversees ACEP’s membership recognition & awards program
•    Solicits testimonials from prominent ACEP members regarding the benefits of participating in the organization
•    Identifies membership benefits that are relevant to an international constituency
•    Evaluates findings of membership surveys of active and inactive members
•    Makes recommendations to address findings of membership surveys
•    Makes recommendations to Finance Committee regarding dues structure
    Regional Coordinator
•    Oversees membership development and educational offerings within region
•    Welcomes new members and contacts inactive members to encourage participation
•    Recruits state or province coordinators within region
State or Province Coordinator
Oversees membership development and educational offerings within state or province

Welcomes new members and contacts inactive members to encourage participation
Research Committee
•    Sets priorities for research initiatives that focus on efficacy of energy psychology methods
•    Compiles and maintains database of current research studies in energy psychology
•    Issues call for proposals for conducting energy psychology research studies that focus on treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD with energy psychology methods
•    Select proposals to be funded by ACEP research grants
•    Raises funds to underwrite ACEP’s research grants
