Directors are elected for a period of three years and can run for an additional three-year term. The Nominating Committee issues a call for nominations each fall and recommends a slate of nominees to the membership. Terms begin January 1st of each year.

Gregory Nicosia, PhD, DCEP
President
Greg was raised in South Hampton, Long Island, NY and graduated Union College in Schenectady NY with a BS. in mthematics and psychology and received MS and PhD in psychology from Rutgers University.
He began full time teaching in 1975 at Wilson College and moved to Pittsburgh and Chatham College in 1979, the same year he became a licensed psychologist in PA and began a private practice where he established a mobile medical diagnostic company called Advanced Diagnostics in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. In the 1990s he studied EMDR and proceeded to facilitate and teach with Francine Shapiro in major cities throughout the U.S. He also conducted the first quantitative EEG studies of EMDR and published a paper concerning the relationship of EMDR and hypnosis. After studying with Roger Callahan, Fred Gallo and Greg began teaching a two part TFT curriculum that they designed. Later having evolved a simpler form of TFT, Thought Energy Synchronization Therapy, that had broader applications. They taught extensively in the United States and Canada and led a team of trainers including Victoria Britt, Sheila Bender and John Diepold.
Greg joined the ACEP board in 2001 serving first as membership director and later as director of research. He advocated for certification in energy psychology in the early days of ACEP.s history and led the Certification Committee in the development and implementation of ACEP’s certification program.

Larry Stoler, MSSA, PhD, DCEP
Past President
Larry is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified Chilel™ Qigong teacher practicing at WholeHealth Chicago, a pioneering center for integrative medicine. Larry and his colleagues have created a viable model of wellness and healing that integrates energy and natural medicine along with orthodox approaches.
Larry continues to pursue a lifelong interest in healing. His work, using energy psychology and Qigong healing principles, teaches people the tools of master healers. Larry also has diagnostic TFT training and is an advisory board member of David Feinstein’s Energy Psychology Interactive. He has taught energy psychology and Chilel™ Qigong in Israel, Europe and the United States.

Robert Schwarz, PsyD, DCEP
Executive Director
Bob was appointed to the position of Executive Director in September of 2008. Prior to this he was on ACEP's Board of Directors for three years. During that time he served as the Conference Director, as well as being heavily involved in many of ACEP's key initiatives. Bob focused on improving many operational and financial aspects of ACEP.
He is a licensed psychologist and coach in Haverford, Pennsylvania. He is clinical member of AAMFT and an approved consultant for the ASCH. He is author of Tools for Transforming Trauma and Posttramatic Stress Disorder: A Clinicians Guide. From 1989-1996 he was president of the Institute for Advanced Clinical Training, where he organized 11 conferences on trauma, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Brief Therapy, training over 10,000 therapists. He is diagnostically trained in TFT. He has spent the last ten years as co-developer of Attractor Field Techniques.
Bob has presented numerous workshops internationally on Ericksonian therapy and treating trauma, energy psychology as well as numerous workshops for businesses. He balances work with playing guitar in a rock-and-roll band. He is based in Haverford, Pennsylvania.

Debby Vajda, LCSW, DCEP

Debby Vajda is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Corvallis, Oregon. She has been practicing energy psychology for ten years and is trained in TFT, EFT, TAT, BSFF, Allergy Antidotes, and NeuroModulation Technique, among others. She is an ACEP certification consultant, a member of the Certification Committee, and is the certification coordinator. She is also the developer and past-coordinator of the Energy Therapy Network of the Mid-Atlantic States.

James Klopman, MBA
Treasurer
Jim Klopman has been a successful manager and entrepreneur in the textile industry for 20 years. Then he took a mid-career retirement to spend more time with his family. That left him with free time to explore the wold of human energy systems. Jim believes organizations also have their own energy systems that reflect their success or failure. He is currently writing and researchiing what he has discovered.
Jim has been a board member for several years. His main responsibilities has been advising the AcEP presidents and board on management and organizational dynamics.
Jim is based in Birmingham, Alabama.

Betsy Muller, MBA, CEHP

Betsy Muller is a holistic business coach, certified energy health practitioner, certified energy coach, and speaker. Her company, The Indigo Connection LLC, is dedicated to providing women and holistic entrepreneurs with coaching for prosperity, application of spiritual leadership principles and health-enhancing energy balance tools. She is an accomplished practitioner and teacher of EFT. Her passion is integrating positive energy and spiritual healing into real world life and business applications.
After decades working in a variety of traditional business and health care management settings, life changed in 2001 when she discovered energy psychology techniques at a conference in Switzerland. Since then, her passion has been to help others enjoy balanced and purposeful lives by integrating energy modalities into life and business applications.
Betsy’s work experience has included group medical practice management, healthcare sales & marketing, human resources, government affairs, real estate planning, wellness education, financial management and biochemical research & development. Past employers include PPG Industries, Southwest General Health Center, BP Oil Company and OsteoMed II/New Medical Awareness Seminars, (Dr. Sherri Tenpenny’s medical practice and related products/seminars).
Betsy earned a BA in chemistry and an MBA in systems management. She is a certified medical office manager and an ordained minister. She makes her home in Strongsville, Ohio.

Maria Becker, MD, FRCP-C
Ethics & Professional Affairs
Maria is a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Ontario, Canada. She is trained in psychodynamic, cognitive, EMDR, and energy psychology therapies including EFT, Seemorg Matrix and TAT. She has developed her own model of intervention, AAL (Awareness-Acceptance-Letting go).
Maria works as a youth psychiatrist in student health services at Brock University in Ontario. She particularly enjoys practicing energy group psychotherapy. She lectures widely on energy psychology to parents, mental health professionals and psychology students at the university.
She is co-founder of the Niagara Stress and Trauma Clinic and the Niagara EMDR and Energy Psychology Professional Network. She designed early-intervention programs for infants and crisis intervention for children and adolescents. In addition to ACEP, she is a member of the Institute of HeartMath and ISSSEEM. She is based in ST Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

Mary Jo is an expert in the worldwide application of energy medicine to health professionals, lay people and the poor. Her background in energy therapy and education spans 30 years, paralleling her distinguished university career. She is a medical intuitive and mental health practitioner/instructor. She left the university to take Healing Touch and Transform Your Life through Energy Medicine (TYLEM) throughout the world, following spiritual guidance. She launched energy programs in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Peru, Canada and throughout the USA.
Mary Jo has been an inspiration and leader in the field of energy therapies since 1970s. Over the years she has taught and supported many in their development as beginning and expert practitioners and instructors in energy work.

Mary is an Oregon therapist, trainer, consultant, and writer. Her training includes expressive therapies, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) Part II and many energy psychology models. She develops work which combines her background in human and child development, addictions, play therapy, the sacred feminine with the energy psychotherapies. She has been on the board of the Northwest Addictions Studies Institute, Oregon Play Therapy Association, co-founded the Northwest Play Therapy Institute and the Dynamic Energetic Healing® Institute. John Freedom
Research
John is a life-long student of healing, consciousness and energy medicine/energy psychology. He holds a master’s level certification in NLP, with additional training in EFT, TFT, EMDR, HBLU, Seemorg Matrix Work, Focussed Expressive Therapy, acupuncture detox, and other techniques.
John is a former radio talk-show host, editor of an alternative monthly, and volunteer mediator. He has taught seminars in EFT and related topics throughout the U.S. and in Europe. He is a long-time meditator, and a student of Tibetan Buddhism and A Course In Miracles. John makes his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he enjoys hiking, reading and playing piano.

Nilhan Sezgin, PhD
International Affairs
Nilhan Sezgin is a clinical psychologist from Ankara, Turkey. She has worked in constructing developmental and mental assessment tools for Turkish children & adults, and adaptation of worldwide intelligence assessment tools to the Turkish population. She has organized workshops and supervision groups with the cooperation of the Turkish Psychological Association for psychologists on principles of energy psychology & EFT since 2002. She presented a paper, “Comparison Of The Effectiveness Of Two Techniques On Reducing Test Anxiety: EFT And Progressive Muscular Relaxation” (co-authored by Özcan B.) at the Toronto EP Conference in 2004. She is currently an associate professor at Ankara University.

Carole Stern, RNC, MS, DCEP
Education
Carole is a psychologist and certified psychiatric mental health nurse. In addition to a maintaining a private practice, she is founder and executive director of The Stern Center for Developmental Health, which serves six counties in estern Pennsylvania and provides in-home services for children and adolescents at risk for out-of-home placement. Carole specializes in trauma-related disorders and Reactive Attachment Disorders and has developed a specialized trauma and Reactive Disorder family-based program.
Carole is trained in traditional therapies including cognitive behavioral and Gestalt as well as mind-body therapies including biofeedback, Core-Somatics, Feldenkrais and Reike. She is also trained in EMDR, TFT, DX, EFT, and Theraplay.
Her passions are travel and world cultures, skiing, and quarter horses. She is based in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

George Pratt, PhD, DCEP

George is a licensed clinical psychologist and for the past decade served as Chairman of Psychology, Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, California. He has been in private practice for over thirty years specializing in mind/body techniques, psychotherapy/coaching, and hypnotherapy. In addition to traditional tools, EMDR and clinical hypnosis, he uses a wide range of EP techniques. He is a Fellow and a Certified/Approved Consultant of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and Past-President of the San Diego Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He taught at the University of Minnesota and presently at the University of California, San Diego.
George is co-author of Instant Emotional Healing: Acupressure for the Emotions, Hyper-Performance: The AIM Strategy for Releasing Your Business Potential and A Clinical Hypnosis Primer. He is published in Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine and is on the Advisory Board of EP Interactive. He conducts EP seminars on the Big Island of Hawaii and in La Jolla.

Harvey Baker, PhD

Harvey is a licensed psychologist in New York State and a licensed mental health counselor in New Jersey. He received his BA from Harvey College, his MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and his PhD from Clark University. After completing a research post-doctoral program at Clark University, he worked for five years at Educational Testing Service, where he specialized in research into developmental psychology and also served as Director of the Perception Lab. He joined the faculty of Queens College of the City University of New York, serving as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. He also headed the MA Program at Queens College for seven years. He continues to maintain a part-time private practice.
